Rumination

Like an ornament hung from a tree
glittering for a time
betwixt and between
the childlike anticipation
and the bittersweet culmination

I hang
between
the wanting
and the having

for a season
suspended in trees
hiding
in seeking.
Hunting.

I feel this. Excellent word choice. Love this simile for rumination. Well-done

Wonderful imagery and parallels, KGT.
"Hiding in seeking" is a good definition. It takes my mind to other aspects of Christmas as well. Simple, yet complex.

I agree with ms.e - "hiding in seeking" seems very apt. Glad to see my photo put to such good use here. Cheers.

Your words echo out of the cold pale light. Poem finishes what the picture started! K
